HanBuddy Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-08

Article 1. Purpose

These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of Zero One (the “Company”) and members, and the conditions and procedures for using the HanBuddy website and related services (the “Service”).

Article 2. Definitions

  1. A “member” is a person who agrees to these Terms and creates an account.
  2. A “Tourist” is a member who searches for, books and pays for activities listed by Buddies.
  3. A “Buddy” is a member approved by the Company to list and provide activities to Tourists.
  4. An “activity” is a local experience, accompaniment, guidance or related service provided according to the schedule and content set by a Buddy.
  5. A “booking” is the act of entering into an activity service contract by confirming the activity, schedule, participant count and price, and completing payment.
  6. “Content” includes all text, photos, videos, reviews, messages and other materials posted or transmitted by members through the Service.

Article 3. Publication and Changes

  1. The Company publishes these Terms and its business name, representative, address, contact information, business registration number and mail-order business registration details where members can easily find them.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within applicable law. Material or unfavorable changes are announced at least 30 days before they take effect, stating the effective date and reasons. Other changes are announced at least 7 days in advance.
  3. Separate consent is obtained where legally required for changes materially affecting members’ rights or obligations.
  4. Matters not covered here are governed by applicable law, individual policies and customary business practices.

Article 4. Eligibility and Registration

  1. Only people aged 19 or older may register for and use the Service. Members must provide accurate information during registration and booking.
  2. Members must use their own Google account or another supported authentication method. Accounts may not be transferred, lent or shared.
  3. The Company may reject registration or subsequently restrict use if:
    • Another person’s information or false information is used.
    • The applicant is under 19.
    • Access was previously restricted for a serious violation of the Terms.
    • The application is for an unlawful purpose or contrary to public order.
  4. Listing activities as a Buddy requires separate review and approval. Registration alone does not authorize a member to provide activities.

Article 5. Contracting Parties and the Company’s Role

  1. A Service use agreement is formed between the Company and the member.
  2. As a rule, each activity contract is formed between the Buddy listing it and the Tourist booking it. Activity details and checkout identify the Buddy providing the activity and the key transaction conditions.
  3. The Company provides listings, search, booking, payment connections, automated notifications, customer support and dispute mediation. When collecting payments, it does so on behalf of the Buddy.
  4. Being an intermediary does not exclude responsibilities imposed on the Company by law. The Company is liable under applicable law for loss caused by its own intent or negligence.
  5. The listing Buddy is responsible for the activity’s content and quality, required authorizations, on-site operation and safety measures. The Company may review and act on listing information, reports and operating history.

Article 6. Account Management

  1. Members must keep a reachable email address and current profile information.
  2. Members must immediately notify the Company of compromised credentials or unauthorized account use.
  3. Members are responsible for losses caused by their failure to manage credentials, except where the Company acted intentionally or negligently.

Article 7. Activity Information and Prices

  1. Buddies must accurately list the content, schedule, location, duration, language, inclusions and exclusions, participation requirements, capacity, price and cancellation conditions.
  2. Displayed prices must include costs necessarily expected for normal participation. Optional on-site costs or costs that cannot be determined in advance must be clearly identified, with estimated ranges, in the activity details.
  3. Mandatory costs not disclosed in the activity details may not be demanded on site.
  4. The Company may request corrections or suspend sales for obvious errors, system issues or potentially unlawful listings. If an existing booking is affected, the Tourist is promptly notified of available options.

Article 8. Booking Confirmation

  1. A booking is confirmed when the Tourist checks the activity time, participant count, actual payment amount and cancellation conditions, gives required consent to the Cancellation and Refund Policy, and completes payment.
  2. Seats may be held temporarily for up to 15 minutes while payment is pending. Applications automatically expire if payment is not completed within that time.
  3. Booking details are provided on the confirmation screen and by email or Service notification.
  4. If system errors, duplicate bookings or unavailability prevent performance, the Company or Buddy promptly explains the reason and refund procedure.
  5. The lead participant must confirm that all participants, including themselves, are at least 19. The Company or Buddy may reasonably request age verification for safety and legal compliance.

Article 9. Payment

  1. Tourists pay using a supported payment method in KRW or the currency shown at checkout.
  2. Payment records and refunds are calculated from the amount actually approved after coupons, promotions or other discounts.
  3. Payment providers’ policies may also apply to authorization, refund processing times and identity verification.
  4. The Company does not directly store full card numbers or payment passwords. Payment information is processed through payment providers.
  5. Platform fees charged to Buddies and VAT on those fees follow the Buddy Commission and Settlement Policy and are shown separately in settlement statements.

Article 10. Cancellation, Refunds and Schedule Changes

  1. Detailed rules for cancellation, refunds, Buddy cancellation, lateness, no-shows and material changes are in the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
  2. Members may request statutory withdrawal within 7 days of receiving the written contract details. If supply occurs later, members may request withdrawal within 7 days from receipt or commencement of supply. Any longer period required by applicable law applies.
  3. HanBuddy’s general 48-hour/24-hour cancellation rules apply after the statutory withdrawal period or where grounds restricting withdrawal under Article 17(2) of the Republic of Korea’s Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. are recognized. However, a full refund takes priority when the 30-minute free cancellation conditions below are met. Cancellation requested within 30 minutes of payment confirmation of the booking and before the scheduled activity start receives a full refund of the amount actually paid, regardless of the general cancellation rules. This benefit ends at the scheduled activity start. It does not restrict statutory withdrawal or other refund rights.
  4. Before application and payment, the Company clearly displays statutory withdrawal availability, time-based refunds, the actual-payment basis and a link to the full policy, and obtains separate consent.
  5. Material changes to the schedule, location or activity require the Tourist’s consent. Tourists who do not agree may cancel under the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Article 11. Member Obligations and Prohibited Conduct

Members must not:

  1. Use another person’s account or personal information without permission, or provide false information.
  2. Encourage off-platform payment to bypass payment protection, safety or dispute procedures.
  3. Use contact information obtained through an activity for purposes other than performance of the activity or subsequent dispute handling.
  4. Engage in discrimination, hate, sexual harassment, bullying, violence, threats, stalking, illegal acts, or physical contact or recording without consent.
  5. Disrupt the Service or gain unauthorized system access.
  6. Infringe copyright, portrait rights, privacy or other rights.
  7. Manipulate reviews or ratings for compensation, or submit false reports.

Detailed conduct and safety rules are in the Community and Safety Policy.

Article 12. Content and Reviews

  1. Members must hold the necessary rights to posted content and may post others’ personal information or likeness only within lawful consent.
  2. Members grant the Company a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, display and reformat content as needed to operate, display, search, translate and promote the Service. The license ends after content deletion or account closure, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention periods.
  3. The Company may temporarily block or remove unlawful content, privacy violations, false or manipulated reviews, or policy violations, and provides reasons and appeal instructions where possible.
  4. Reviews must reflect actual booking and activity experiences. Negative opinions alone are not grounds for removal.

Article 13. Restrictions and Termination

  1. Members may request account closure at any time through the Service. Closure may be completed after pending bookings, refunds, settlements or disputes are resolved.
  2. Depending on the seriousness of violations of law, these Terms or individual policies, the Company may warn members, restrict content or bookings, suspend accounts or terminate the agreement.
  3. Except in urgent safety situations, fraud, repeated no-shows or serious illegal conduct, the Company provides reasons and an opportunity to remedy the issue in advance.
  4. Members may appeal with supporting materials within 14 days of a restriction notice. The Company communicates its review result within a reasonable period.

Article 14. Service Changes and Interruptions

  1. The Company may temporarily interrupt the Service for maintenance, security, equipment or network failures, or force majeure, with advance notice where foreseeable.
  2. If a change or interruption prevents a confirmed booking from being fulfilled, the Company explains alternatives or the refund procedure.
  3. Free supplementary features may change, but members’ rights under existing paid transactions may not be unfairly restricted.

Article 15. Damages and Liability

  1. The Company or a member causing loss through intent or negligence is liable under applicable law.
  2. Liability may be limited to the extent performance is prevented by events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, government action or traffic restrictions. Refunds for unprovided activities remain subject to law and the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
  3. The Company does not guarantee Buddies’ conduct but reasonably handles safety reports, payment holds, fact-finding and necessary access restrictions.
  4. Nothing excludes liability for the Company’s intent or gross negligence, injury to life or body, or liability that cannot be excluded under consumer protection law.

Article 16. Disputes

  1. Members may submit complaints or disputes through booking support or contact@hanbuddy.kr.
  2. The Company may review both parties’ explanations, messages, photos, receipts, location and payment records and propose a resolution.
  3. Members must provide reasonably requested evidence within a reasonable period. The Company communicates progress and outcomes.
  4. These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Litigation must be brought before a competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.

Article 17. Notices

The Company may notify members through registered email, Service notifications or announcements. General notices may be posted for at least 7 days; matters materially affecting members are also notified individually.
