HanBuddy applies these standards so Tourists and Buddies of different backgrounds can meet in a safe and respectful environment.
1. Respect Each Other
The following are prohibited:
- Discrimination or hate based on nationality, race, origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, age or other personal traits.
- Insults, threats, repeated unwanted contact, stalking, exclusion or coercion through a power imbalance.
- Sexual remarks or images, sexual harassment, sexual violence or physical contact without consent.
- Taking or publishing photos, video or audio without explicit consent.
- Violence, theft, fraud, illegal drugs, weapons or other unlawful or dangerous acts.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Silence, intoxication or intimidated responses must not be treated as consent.
2. Safe Activity Operation
- Buddies explain expected risks, clothing, health and mobility requirements, weather effects and emergency procedures in advance.
- All participants follow safety instructions and local law. Buddies may stop dangerous behavior or limit participation where necessary for safety.
- Buddies may not provide activities requiring professional qualifications or permits without them.
- Activities involving alcohol must not pressure participants to drink excessively or encourage further drinking by impaired participants.
- In emergencies, first contact 112, 119 or local emergency services rather than reporting to the platform. HanBuddy is not a real-time rescue service but provides account protection, record preservation, authority cooperation and follow-up support after receiving reports.
3. Contact Information and Personal Relationships
- Contact information supplied during booking is used only for preparation, schedule and location communication, safety and disputes.
- Unwanted private meetings, sales, religious or political solicitation and persistent contact are prohibited.
- Do not encourage off-platform payment or bookings. Off-platform transactions may lack payment protection and dispute mediation.
4. Photos and Content
- Clear consent is required to take or post identifiable photos or videos.
- On withdrawal of consent or a deletion request, delete within a reasonable period unless legal retention is required.
- Do not publish others’ identity documents, contact details, addresses, payment information or private conversations.
5. Reporting
Non-emergency violations can be reported through the Service or:
- Email: contact@hanbuddy.kr
- Phone: +82 10-8297-0110
Booking numbers, time and place, explanations, messages, photos and receipts help verification. Do not risk your safety to collect evidence.
6. Handling Reports and Protection
- The Company reviews both parties’ explanations and objective evidence and shares information only as necessary.
- Urgent risk may justify blocking messages, restricting new bookings, hiding activities, holding payments or settlements, or suspending accounts during investigation.
- Retaliation or disadvantage for reporting is a separate violation.
- Knowingly false reports intended to harm others may be sanctioned. Good-faith reports are not sanctioned merely because they are unproven.
- The Company may cooperate with lawful investigative requests and share necessary information where permitted by law to address imminent threats to life or body.
7. Measures and Appeals
Depending on seriousness, repetition, intent, harm and cooperation, the Company may warn, remove content, restrict contact, refund, hide listings, restrict bookings, suspend or close accounts. Immediate restrictions without warning may apply to sexual violence, violence, fraud, serious privacy violations or Buddy no-shows requiring immediate prevention of harm.
Members may appeal with evidence to contact@hanbuddy.kr within 14 days of notice. Refunds follow the separate Cancellation and Refund Policy.
